Packing Advice

2 Weeks to 1 Month Before Moving Day:

Book Boxes:

Fill these 75% with heavy items such as books, records, CDs, weights (distributed), and add light materials like a couch pillow, cloth, or clothing.

Folding Boxes:

Fill these with folded clothes, lighter items, and things that need to go to upper floors or attics.

Hard Plastic Stackable 1-Meter Containers:

Use these for contents from the kitchen, living room, and other items that don’t fit standard boxes. Also ideal for dishes, fragile items, small plants, umbrellas, hockey sticks, wrapping paper, etc.

Packing Paper:

Use this to wrap the most fragile items like dishes, vases, artwork, etc. Nothing should rattle inside the box.

Movers Tape and Seal Foil:

Used to bundle and wrap loose shelves, furniture, etc.

Moving Stickers:

Label the boxes (on top!) and individual items. Always ensure one number is clearly visible on each box!

On Moving Day or Afternoon Before Loading the Truck:

Wardrobe Boxes:

For your formal hanging clothes, 1 meter per box, can be filled on the day itself.

Painting Boxes:

Paintings, mirrors, glass plates, monitors, small flat screen TVs, etc.

Moving Blankets, Tape, and Seal Foil:

Used by us to wrap large fragile furniture pieces.

Sofa and Mattress Covers:

Sofas are wrapped in padded covers, mattresses in zippered single or double durable covers.

Large fragile furniture is always wrapped by VDW (standard procedure).

By using our sustainable packing materials correctly, you avoid overly heavy boxes or preventable moving damage.
